Arnhem 75th

Following on from D-Day we will be following the breakout in Normandy and in the footsteps of the troops across Europe to Arnhem in the Netherlands, where many of the same men fought once again. There they did not achieve the same success however, and the stories from Arnhem are of determination and fortitude in dire circumstances. After holding the area for over a week, well exceeding the 2 days it was thought necessary, the men were forced to withdraw. Many of those who had been holding the bridge in Arnhem became prisoners and were marched across Germany during the terrible winter that followed.
