This D-Day veteran had an amazing surprise when he attended the d-day commemorations this year for the 75th anniversary. In 1944, American soldier K.T. Robbins met Jeannine Ganaye while he was stationed in northeastern France. They fell in love, but were separated as Mr Robbins had to move on with the liberating forces. Both married but often thought of each other, and Mr Robbins kept a photograph of Jeannine with him. Now 97, he showed the photo to journalists from French broadcaster France 2 while they were filming a recent report on D-Day veterans and they were able to track her down to a retirement home in Normandy, near where they had met. The two were reunited and after a few hours together he had to leave again for the commemorations, but he parted saying "Jeannine, I love you girl," and both vowed to meet again.
